This year's Association Striking Competions were held on Thursday 2nd July 2015 at Pendoylan in The Vale of Glamorgan.

A lovely sunny evening helped make the event go smoothly, as did the availability of the pub next door. Well, it would have been rude not to smiley

There were three tower-bands in each sections and the judges were our old - sorry, "friends of long-standing" - Ruth and Geoff Stickland and the quality of the ringing in both sections gave them something to get their teeth into.  Their findings were in broad accord with the "churchyard pundits" as follows (higher scores better. Honest, Mr Chairman blush):

Call Change Section:
1st place: Penarth (rang 3rd)  - 74%
2nd place: Llantwit Major (rang 2nd) - 73%
3rd place: Shirenewton - 68%

Method Section (240 Grandsire Doubles, PBPBPS x4):
1st place: Llandaff Cathedral (rang 3rd) - 84%
2nd place: Rumney (rang 2nd) - 78%
3rd place: Newport Cathedral (rang 1st) - 71%

Llandaff Cathedral therefore go forward to represent the Association for the J Arthur Hoare Memorial Trophy at the All Wales Striking Competition, hosted by the St David's Guild, at Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth, on Saturday 26th September 2015.
