Association 12-Bell Practice, Friday 8th May 2015
Please note that the May 2015 12-Bell Practice will be on Friday 8th May 2015 and NOT on the date given on the printed Fixture Card.
2015 Pitman Trophy
In a break with tradition, and following the success of the 2014 competition, this year's Pitman Trophy Striking Competition has been scheduled for Thursday 2nd July 2015 starting at 6:30pm.
Whilst the location cannot be arranged until after the Branch competitions (so a neutral tower can be chosen), we do know that it will be at a tower in the Llandaff Branch.
Following a recent inspection by bell hangers, we regret to advise that there will be no ringing at St Athan until further notice due to safety concerns. Please see this thread in the Forums.
Ringing for VE Day
A request has been received from Government for bells to be rung to mark the 70th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE Day).
If possible, the desire is for bells to be rung at 11 am on Saturday 9th May or alternatively at other convenient time over the weekend Friday to Sunday 8th-10th May. Although there are other demands for special ringing coming up we hope that this can be given due support.
The Church of England has also been approached by Government so church authorities should be aware of the reason for additional ringing.
From the 2015 AGM
Updated 14th April 2015
The Association's 2015 Annual General Meeting was held on a beautiful spring day in Radyr, Cardiff.
Ringing before the Service and tea saw touches of Grandsire, Stedman and Bristol, with a very pleasant "service touch" of Stedman Triples to finish.
The Service was led by Reverend Canon Jenny Mole and this preceded a very pleasant traditional "ringers' tea" reputed to have been all hand-made or home baked under the direction of Peter Brennan.
2014 Annual Report
If all has gone to plan then most of the Association's membership will have by now received their copy of the 2014 Annual Report.
The Report contains details of Association and Branch activities, practices, accounts, etc. The Report also contains the full list of Tower Corrospondents which was, to the best of endeavours, correct at the time of going to press.
